Hey Reader, Talking to a camera can feel awkward as hell. What do I say? How do I look? What will people think about me? These thoughts can mess with your flow and make you lose your authenticity. At least that was my biggest challenge when I started on YouTube, overthinking everything instead of just showing up. But if you’ve got something to say, a brand or business to build, and you’re done helping someone else chase their dream… this is a problem worth overcoming. Opportunities show up for the ones who are willing to put themselves out there. So today, let’s break down the 3 biggest reasons why people struggle with confidence on camera (and stick around till the end... I’ve got a special announcement that’ll help you crush this). #1: Fear of JudgmentYou care way too much about what people think, forgetting that everyone’s too busy thinking about themselves. Sure, someone might see you filming in public. Then what? Sixty seconds later, they’re back in their own head. Do you. Give them something to talk about. You’re choosing creativity over comfort, and that’s something to be proud of. #2: Breaking Promises to YourselfConfidence fades when you stop doing what you say you’ll do. Start small. Keep promises to yourself. Then watch the confidence compound. #3: Not knowing your takeawayBefore you press record, know why you’re recording. What do you want people to walk away with? What’s the value? Francis Ford Coppola didn’t just wing The Godfather. He obsessed over the details, studied the story – to the point he had markers and dividers all throughout his journal – and planned everything before he filmed a single scene. When you know your destination, it’s much easier to share your thoughts naturally, authentically, and with purpose. The cool thing about creating content is it’s really just applied psychology — learning how to connect, tell stories, and make people feel something. If this is your vibe, I have greats news: Next week, I’m hosting a 7-day challenge inside Dreamflow Lounge to help you go from insecure to dumb confident on camera. We’ll press record, ditch the self-sabotage, and help you show up with ease and authenticity, so you can build a brand you’re proud of. At the very least, you’ll build confidence that’ll spill into every part of your life. Click here to join the community + challenge See you inside, Ashton |

Hey Reader, “Embarrassment is an under-explored emotion. Go out there and make a fool of yourself. Feel that feeling of cringe, and do it anyway.” I heard this scrolling on TikTok the other day, and gahhh damn it smacked me silly. “Embarrassment is an under-explored emotion.” That line alone hits different. How often have we scared our true selves away just to avoid feeling embarrassed? Truth is, embarrassment isn’t as bad as we make it. What someone thinks of you is a reflection of them, not...
Hey Reader, “The quality of your life is based on the quality of your relationships.” That line hit me fkn hard this week. One of our Confidence on Camera challenge members, Thomas, mentioned it in his day 2 video submission, and it took me straight back to early college when social anxiety ran my life. Overthinking every word. Wondering how I looked. Needing shots of fireball just to calm the nerves. It may have helped in the moment (if I didn't black out), but it definitely prevented me...
Hey Reader, How easy is it for you to push important things off? Resistance can easily make the task feel impossible, and suddenly distractions feel “urgent,” like you have no other option. But how often do you finally do the thing… only to realize it wasn’t as bad as you made it out to be? In college, I dreaded accounting. I dreaded every last drop of those 5 classes I had to take. Once I finished the final class, I realized I actually enjoyed accounting, and looking back I realized I made...
